Designing New Courses

I am in the middle of designing a couple of new online writing courses. It is an exciting stage. I have a paper everywhere and notes written on every scrap. I have so many ideas but wanted to ask you what kinds of creative writing courses you are interested in taking. Would you prefer more creative courses to give your writing a kick start or courses introducing key aspects of writing? Would you prefer beginner or more advanced courses? What kind of course are you looking for right now? Your help will make sure that the new courses suit you. I would dearly love for you to email me with your thoughts or leave me a comment here. Thank you again for all your support so far.

  1. Hello dear Amy!!
I'd LOVE to have a regular opportunity to flex my writing muscles with some of your clever prompts but also pursue a more sustained project so that I would have the opportunity to share with others and receive some of your FANTASTIC development points.
Not sure if that's along the lines of what you're thinking and it may be more advanced than would appeal to a general audience but I'm having such trouble finding something that fits the bill. It's either undergraduate courses or short programs for beginners or expensive Masters level courses or writing groups for enthusiastic amateurs. I'm not saying I'm not one of the latter but I really loved the way you set out Handmade Writer and would seriously look into any kind of follow-up you offered.
Hope you're keeping well and happy and that the PhD is progressing nicely.
    Kat xx

  2. I would be very interested in a course that digs into the key aspects of writing. I want to know the elements that are used to distinguish one form from another. I want to develop a character with feedback and really know who they are.
I loved your Handmade Writer course and would jump at the opportunity to receive your feedback again.

  4. Hi Amy

I have meant to email you to say thank you for the Bring Yourself writing course I did a couple of months ago with you. I'd like to do an online course where you work on one or maybe two projects over a sustained period. I am very good at starting things then never finishing them, as I think many people are, so it would be good to have something or someone to motivate me to keep going with something. Looking forward to hearing what you come up with.

  6. Hello Amy,

Just dropping by to say Hi on your blog. Hope that your new course planning is going well. Sounds exciting. I 'm busy writing my book (in the final stages), making Christmas craft, running workshops, doing a project with a painter- lovely things. Just finished eating a big slice of choclate cake...mmmm.
Wishing you bonnes fêtes de fin d'année,
    Susanna

  7. Thank you everyone for your suggestions. They are so useful.

Ella - Yes, encouraging people to focus on completing projects is a great idea. Finishing can be so hard.
